Cloud Security and FedRAMP

In this session two of a four part series led by Cara Wulf, we walk through the basics of cloud computing and explain how it intersects with Federal acquisitions and cybersecurity.  Building on the first session, we examine how the applicable laws and regulations and evolving NIST standards impact Federal IT acquisitions and the provision of cloud services. We also discuss cloud computing best practices, threat management considerations, and other practical application of this guidance in the context of cloud computing. Finally, we will examine the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (“FedRAMP”) and its impact on cloud service providers.
